q Reviewed, drafted and negotiated numerous construction contracts for owners and general contractors, including design build and teaming agreements. Recent experience includes:

q Participating on the DBIA task force to revise the national DBIA form agreements

q Reviewed design-build procurement for $600,000,000 light rail project.

q Drafted design-build agreement for professional baseball park.

q Reviewed design build agreement for $160,000,000 heavy civil freeway renovation;

q Reviewed design build agreement and drafted subcontract agreement for portions of Seattle’s Monorail project

q Reviewed Joint Venture Agreement for $200,000,000 project

q Drafted $200,000,000 condominium contract with complex financial structure

q Drafted $150,000,000 contract for multi use complex including retail, hotel and residential

q Represented Public Owner in managing design build preliminary agreement and drafting prime design build agreement for $45,000,000 hospital project

q Represented DBIA on Washington State Capitol Projects Advisory Review Board subcommittee negotiating changes to Washington’s alternative procurement legislation

q Contract Administration of XO Communications construction program, including management of $200 million master design build construction agreement. Advised XO on numerous contract and construction related issues, including development of contract administration processes, drafting and negotiating numerous contracts, and resolution of disputes with contractors.

q Represented numerous employers in defending handicap, race, age, and sex discrimination and harassment claims before the EEOC, the WSHRC and in mediation and litigation.

q Established "dual gate" procedures at multiple locations and successfully avoided disputes with Union labor counsel regarding use of non-union subcontractors.

q Successfully represented employers in enforcing covenants not to compete with employees.

q Reviewed numerous employment handbooks and policies, including compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act, Federal and State Wage and Hour laws, and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

q Advised numerous employers on employee discharge and discipline procedures and decisions.
